Apps built to get better as you share more
A private data bank where your data benefits you, not big tech.
What is YouDB?
YouDB is a private data bank for your personal information, with apps built on top of it.
It is a single place where your data can live under your control, instead of being scattered across dozens of platforms. This includes data you create yourself, data you already have across other services, and data organisations hold about you.
When your data lives in one place, apps can work with a more complete picture and provide more meaningful help. The more you choose to include, the more useful those apps can become. The data stays yours, the control stays with you, and the benefit flows back to you.
Can you trust big tech?
When you ask ChatGPT “Can you trust tech companies?” (view the chat), here’s what it said:
Short answer: Sometimes. But only in very specific ways — and never in the ways people want to.

Here’s the grounded, reality-based version:
- You can trust them to act in their own commercial interest. Their incentives drive their behaviour far more than their ethics.
- You can trust them to protect your data only up to the point that it benefits them. If better security reduces churn or boosts revenue, they invest in it. Otherwise, security becomes a cost to minimise.
- You cannot trust them to prioritise your wellbeing over profit. Attention extraction, data capture, and behavioural nudging are optimised because they make money. If something benefits you but reduces revenue, it rarely survives.
- You cannot trust them to be transparent by default. They usually reveal information only when forced by regulation, leaks, or PR pressure.
- You can trust them to change policies at any time. Even positive features can be removed overnight if a new strategy requires it.
- You cannot trust them with long-term stability. Products get shut down. APIs disappear. Promises expire. Long-term commitments rarely hold unless backed by regulation or contractual obligation.
- You can trust them to follow regulation when forced — and to avoid it whenever possible. Compliance happens only when the cost of ignoring the law is higher than the cost of following it.
Our goal
To be the most trusted company in the world. — building technology that serves people, not exploits them.
But how do we make money? The opposite of Big Tech
Big Tech makes money by keeping you in the dark — mining your data, feeding your attention, and selling it to the highest bidder.
We do the opposite. Some of our apps are free. Some are paid. Everything’s transparent.
And we’re always finding new ways you can benefit from your data. When we discover something valuable, we’ll show you exactly what it offers and what it costs — in money, data, or both. It’s always opt-out by default, and you choose what’s worth it.
App roadmap
All apps use one log in and connect to one data bank about you. You choose what information to share with what apps. We will tell you what information you need to share and you only share what you think will benefit you.
- Voice Journalling App - Help you feel a little better each day by understanding yourself better.
- Digital Legacy App - Create a digital version of you that future generations can talk to or ask for advice after you have past.
